"I usually try to locate a 2-5 mile hike when I’m traveling out of town. This one did not disappoint. As other reviews stated it is approx 1.25 mile in and out for a total of 2.5 miles. We crossed the bridge which added a little more to the mileage. The trail’s mainly dirt surface is flat with no elevation so you can hike at a brisk pace. My husband and I are both in our 60’s and made the hike in and out in approx an hour and that was with frequent stops to take photos. There is a stepping stone stream crossing at approx .15 mile in and at approx 1 mile in there is a stone staircase down and back up to the trail. It was easy to accomplish. There are some rocks and roots on the trail but minimal compared to what we are used to in the NE Georgia mountains. The river flows on one side of trail and many unique rock formations on the other. We hiked this trail August 2023 around 7 pm and the weather was just right. We highly recommend."
