"Columbia has a lot of cool, quaint shops and restaurants in the early 19th century brick buildings that line its American-style downtown. Hinkel’s restaurant is a unique, historic diner with a soda fountain counter, bake shop, and gift shop as well. The food is standard diner fair, well prepared, and reasonably priced. The wait staff when we were there were all friendly and attentive. We were there for breakfast, and I’m looking forward to returning sometime for dinner."
